Apart from quality education, we offer our students many opportunities to participate in educational programs such as Erasmus+, SPICE, CEEPUS. In addition, our students have the opportunity to extend their knowledge through training courses. Besides knowledge, practice is also extremely important for us and therefore we offer our students the opportunity of practical experience associated with the preparation of final theses.
Bachelor (Bc.) degree
Bachelor degree programme is available within the two accredited programmes.
The Department of Automobile and Manufacturing Technologies enables its students to study advanced technologies in bachelor degree programme. Students gradually acquire basic information needed for working in manufacturing companies having modern machinery and equipment focusing on mechanical engineering. The scope of the study programmes includes the basics of mechanical engineering, acquiring the basic theoretical and practical knowledge needed to occupy the positions of a CNC operator and setter, workshop programmer as well as production quality inspection and many other professions currently important in the labour market. This is the first level of university education and it provides only basic qualifications which can be extended by the various courses offered by the Department. The programme is completed by the state final examination and students are awarded the bachelor degree in the corresponding study branch and study programme. The study programme continues with the engineering degree.
The Department of Automobile and Manufacturing Technologies enables its students to study automotive production technologies in bachelor degree. The automotive industry has grown significantly in Slovakia over the last few years. Both manufacturing and subcontracting companies are expanding and they need educated professionals. Our students acquire basic knowledge of technical materials, technologies and control methods used in the automotive industry. Students are provided with a basic knowledge package being consulted with the experts from these companies. Our graduates are being prepared for practical environment in companies focusing on the automotive industry, namely production of body parts, motor and chassis components and various types of welding and assembling products. The programme provides basic qualification and is completed by the state final examination. Students are awarded the bachelor degree in the corresponding study branch and study programme. The study programme continues with the engineering degree.
During the school year, we organize various student events, such as FMT FEST, which is considered to be a start to the new academic year. You can also attend the Immatriculation Ball or the Student Ball. Other faculty activities include excursions enabling our students to verify their knowledge in practice.
Engineering (Ing.) Degree
Having obtained their bachelor degree, applicants have the opportunity to study engineering degree and continue to acquire high-quality knowledge and practical skills.
The Department of Automobile and Manufacturing Technologies enables its students to study advanced technologies in engineering degree. Students gradually acquire the latest information and knowledge. Their professional orientation is directed to new trends and technologies used by engineering companies. Students are gradually preparing for demanding conditions within professional environment by combining theoretical and practical education, problem solving set by manufacturing companies. Having successfully completed their study programmes, graduates can work as a manufacturing technologist, material engineer, tool specialist, production quality inspector, etc. They obtain the latest and the most up-to-date knowledge during their studies. The programme is completed by the state final examination and students are awarded the engineering degree in the corresponding study branch and study programme.
The Department of Automobile and Manufacturing Technologies enables its students to study automotive production technologies in engineering degree. Students obtain a set of the latest theoretical and practical knowledge on special technical materials and composite materials,modern technologies and special control methods used in the automotive industry. Graduates are provided with a package of knowledge compiled on the basis of requirements and consultation with experts from the Association of the automotive industry. Students acquire knowledge and experience that can be used and applied in a future profession. The second level of university education provides the necessary qualifications and knowledge, so that graduates fulfill all the objectives required by car makers. The programme is completed by the state final examination and students are awarded the engineering degree in the corresponding study branch and study programme.
